The Jordan River

This is an actual picture of the Jordan River, I know this may not be the exact place where Jesus was baptized, but my heart leaps every time I look at it.  Just the thought that my Savior stood in this place so many years ago, traveling along this river and leaving the imprints of His feet there. To know that when my Jesus rose out of the water of this river, the heavens were opened and the Spirit of God descended upon Him like a dove. How wonderful it must have been to witness that day. My life is being changed by Jesus everyday. No one will ever know the depth of that, but I have seen the mighty power of God in my life. I have a deep love for Jesus, and once Jesus gets a hold on you, you will never be the same.

Matthew 3:13-17 (KJV)

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?  And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all rightousness. Then he suffered him.  And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Let Us Run

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

What comfort to know that the author and finisher of our faith is set at the right hand of the throne of God, and we can freely run to him when life's storms get to be too much. Today release the weight of sin, and run to Jesus. Tell Him of your troubles, ask for His help. Look to Jesus today he is your answer.

Oh Glorious Day !!

1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

What a wonderful thought, to be caught up in the clouds to meet our Lord in the air on the day of His return. Oh glorious day, a day when every tear will be wiped away, all pain and suffering will be gone. We will receive our glorified bodies, no more sickness, no more physical pain. The joy in knowing we will spend the rest of eternity serving and praising our God !

More Than a Blog

I am pretty excited about this new journey in my life. Looking to Heaven was starting out to just be a blog, something that would encourage someone from time to time, A place where I could express and share my love for Christ. Not long after I began to plan this blog, a friend of mine needed some help, my husband and I were more than happy to help. This is where things began to change, helping my friend became a Bible lesson to my 5 children on having a servants heart.  At the end of the day my children felt proud of themselves, they had smiles on their faces and satifaction  of a job well done, and the joy of helping someone in need. On our way home my oldest son asked when could we do this again ?  That is when the idea of a ministry came along. I have felt for sometime that I was being called to do some heavy praying, and I thought that it was going to lead into a prayer ministry, but my heart was turned toward a servant's ministry with the new found love of serving others. I still felt lead to pray and now a few weeks later I realized, my ministry doesn't have to be about one thing, I can have a prayer ministry and a serving ministry together.I am going to use this blog to take you on this journey with me, and to encourage you and as a prayer request line. The comment box is open and welcoming your prayer requests. I want you to know as well, that you can rest assure that you will be being prayed for . Thank you for taking time to read this, I hope you will join me on my journey.
